2017 Friends of Myles Standish State Forest Photography Contest


You are invited to share your admiration of Myles Standish State Forest by taking part in the Friends of Myles Standish amateur photography contest.

Your photos may capture a memorable event, a recreational scene, plant or animal seen in the forest, or a beautiful landscape taken in Myles Standish State Forest.

Entries must be submitted before September 20, 2017. Please email photographs to:

Rules and agreements:

Entries must be submitted on or before September 20, 2017. Entries are limited to three per person. Photos must be taken in Myles Standish State Forest. Please submit email entry to with photographer name and contact information (email and mail info for award certificate), photo title (if any), approximate location within MSSF and date of photo, category (memorable event/recreational scene/ plant/ animal/ landscape). Photos should be submitted in a standard photo file format (.jpg, etc.)

Winning photos will be enlarged and displayed at the Annual Take Me Fishin' Festival at Fearing Pond on September 30, 2017 and in the Friend’s online website galleries. Entries are limited to three per person.

Winners will receive award certificates.

Past year's winners have been displayed at the Plymouth and Carver Public Libraries.

By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to allow FMSSF to keep a copy of the photograph and to use it for future educational or promotional purposes.

The contest is open to everyone, including FMSSF members. A jury will choose winners from “blind” entries.
